Receiver
Dawson Co-op invites applications for 2 full-time Receivers to join our team at the Home & Agro Centre in Dawson Creek, British Columbia.
The Receiver is responsible for accurately and efficiently processing deliveries, claims, warranties, and merchandise returns.
Reporting to the Sales and Service Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
• Come to work with a positive and professional approach and attitude
• Be dependable for all scheduled shifts
• Provide outstanding and courteous customer service
• Receive merchandise to department standards following processes for entering merchandise into inventory management system
• Inspect all deliveries when they arrive and follow processes for rejecting damaged or incorrect deliveries
• Complete claims against suppliers to department standards; in regards to damage, shortage and overages
• Process warranties and returns on a consistent basis, ensuring all documentation and packaging standards are met
• Maintain the warehouse in a manner which meets all department standards
• Ensure merchandise, displays and bunk ends consistently meet Dawson Co-operative Union standards as directed
• Follow-up with vendors to schedule deliveries and ensure products arrive as scheduled
• Communicate with Customers, Management and other staff regarding arrival of merchandise, special or out-of-stock merchandise and any other pertinent information that effects department operations
• Maintain constant alert against the unauthorized removal of merchandise
• Operate cash register as required
• Assist with inventory counts as required
• Be able to safely lift up to 50 pounds in weight
• Clear walkways and receiving doors of accumulated snow during winter months
• Assist on the sales floor and find proactive ways to add value to customers purchases
• Adhere to all Dawson Co-operative Union policies, procedures, and health and safety standards
• Plan for self development and take initiative to improve own knowledge, skills and abilities
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Working Conditions:
- Demonstrated data entry skills;
- Positive and results oriented attitude; to prospect, communicate and identify opportunities for success
- Motivated self-starter
- Reliable and responsible
- Detail oriented to ensure accuracy
- Requires physical fitness to lift up to 50 pounds, and to load and unload material
- Emerging ability to manage relationships at all levels
- Standard Shifts are 8 hours, five days per week
- Requires frequent interaction and follow through with suppliers, customers, vendors, management, team leaders, and team members
- Occasional exposure to environmental conditions including heat, cold, dust, and fumes
Compensation and Benefits
• $18.61 to $22.89 an hour, depending on qualifications & experience
