Fusion Face Off 2024
The Competition
“Fusion Face Off not only highlights the culinary prowess of NLC’s students but also celebrates the strong partnership between Dawson Co-op and NLC. Through this collaboration, aspiring chefs gain invaluable real-world experience and mentorship opportunities, setting the stage for successful careers in the culinary industry.” – Dawson Co-op Food Store Manager Peter Lavandier.
Set to take place during the week of March 18-20, 2024 at NLC Dawson Creek Campus, Fusion Face Off will bring together aspiring chefs from NLC’s Professional Cooks Training Program, program instructors Chefs Michael French and Regan King, and celebrity Chef Dale McKay, to compete in a friendly yet fierce cooking competition. Participants will be tasked with crafting unique and delectable dishes that blend diverse culinary traditions, showcasing their skills and creativity- with all ingredients provided by the Dawson Co-op Food Store.
“We are thrilled to partner again with Dawson Co-op for Fusion Face Off, our celebration of culinary excellence and innovation,” said NLC Acting Dean of Trades & Apprenticeships Rod Cork. . “This event not only showcases the talent of our students but also underscores the importance of industry partnerships in providing comprehensive training and mentorship opportunities.”

Gala Dinner & Fundraiser
The week-long competition will culminate in the Fusion Face Off Gala Fundraising Dinner, sponsored by the Ovintiv Events Centre, on Friday March 22, 2024. Gala attendees can look forward to an evening filled with culinary delights, highlights from the competition week, and the reveal of the winning Fusion Face Off team. Whether you’re a food enthusiast, a supporter of culinary education, or simply looking for a deliciously entertaining evening, Fusion Face Off promises to delight and inspire.
