Dawson Co-op Cardlock Member Update

Starting in February 2026, Co-op Cardlock locations will begin using real-time credit checks. Transactions will be declined or stopped if a member’s credit limit is reached.

Why the change?
To reduce credit risks and protect members
To help prevent fraudulent activity, since Cardlock fuel is available 24/7

Transactions will stop once your approved credit limit is reached

We recommend reviewing your current credit limit to ensure it aligns with your expected usage.

If you anticipate higher fuel volumes or seasonal increases, please contact the Dawson Co-op Finance Department to request a credit review or application before February 13, 2026.

WHAT IS CHANGING WITH CO-OP CARDLOCK?

Beginning February 13, 2026, Dawson Co-op Cardlock locations will begin using real-time credit checks. This means transactions will be automatically monitored against your approved credit limit at the time of purchase.

Once real-time credit checks are in place:

  • Transactions may be declined or stopped if your approved credit limit is reached
  • Fueling will resume once your account balance falls below the limit or your credit limit is adjusted

This applies to both individual members and corporate/fleet accounts.

If a transaction is declined, it typically means your account has reached its approved credit limit.
You will need to:

  • Make a payment to reduce your outstanding balance or
  • Contact Dawson Co-op Finance to discuss a credit review or possible increase

We recommend all Cardlock members:

  • Review your current credit limit
  • Consider whether it aligns with your typical or seasonal fuel usage
  • Reach out early if you anticipate needing a higher limit

Planning ahead will help avoid any disruption to fueling.

Yes. Members may request a credit review or submit an application for a higher limit.

In some cases, soft limits may be available for Cardlock-only accounts, depending on account structure and history.
