H&A Clerk

Dawson Co-op invites applications for the position of H&A Clerk (full-time) to join our team at our Home and Agro Centre, located in Dawson Creek, British Columbia.


The H&A Clerk will be responsible for providing information, assistance and customer service in a manner that will promote the sale of merchandise and meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations.

Reporting to theSales and Service Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Come to work with a positive and professional approach and attitude
  • Be dependable for all scheduled shifts
  • Maintain a good understanding of till operation and provide a neat, clean and well-merchandised front-end at all times
  • Operate the point of sale (“POS”) terminal as required and to the expected standard
  • Remain knowledgeable in all lines of merchandise in the Home and Agro Centre and to constantly maintain a high level of product knowledge
  • Provide relevant service to customers from the Service Counter, including key cutting, answering and redirecting phone calls as requested, operating the cash register, and providing general project advice to customers
  • Prepare cash reconciliations as required
  • Provide information, assistance and customer service in a manner that will promote the sale of merchandise and meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations
  • Perform general housekeeping and maintenance duties
  • Ensure a neat, clean and well-merchandised department
  • Stock shelves and display merchandise as directed by Management
  • Receive merchandise as directed
  • Adhere to all Dawson Co-operative Union policies and procedures
  • Adhere to all Dawson Co-operative Union health and safety standards
  • Plan for self-development and take initiative to improve own knowledge, skills and abilities
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Willing to learn
  • Experience working in sales or customer service is an asset
  • Reliable and responsible
  • Excellent customer service
  • Ability to be friendly and outgoing
  • Emerging ability to manage relationships at all levels
