Facilities Clerk

Dawson Co-op invites applications for the position of Facilities Clerk to join our team at our Dawson Co-op Mall located in Dawson Creek, British Columbia.

Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Facilities Clerk is responsible for performing maintenance of the building and grounds, including minor and urgent repairs, cleanup, and general upkeep. This position is also responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of all equipment and tools within the Mall and other Dawson Co-op facilities.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Come to work with a positive and professional approach and attitude
  • Be dependable for all scheduled shifts
  • Provide outstanding and courteous customer service
  • Ensure thorough completion of maintenance as per maintenance schedules
  • Ensure on-time completion of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks from the maintenance schedule, within allocated time frame
  • Provide excellent customer service to mall tenants, Co-op staff and department managers
  • Ensure contents of first aid kits are current, and supplies are fully stocked on a monthly basis
  • Monitor and maintain an adequate supply of janitorial stock
  • Ensure adherence to standards for maintenance and property management to minimize liability to the Co-op
  • Operate and maintain all equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner, including the use of company vehicles
  • Ensure an exceptional level of service is provided and staff attitude is appropriate
  • Maintain a solid understanding of maintenance and repair principles
  • Ensure management of assets and adhere to a maintenance schedule
  • Adhere to all Dawson Co-operative Union policies and procedures
  • Adhere to all Dawson Co-operative Union health and safety standards per the Health and Safety manual
  • Plan for self-development and take initiative to improve own knowledge, skills and abilities
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Grade 12 education; preference given to candidates with relevant post-secondary education
  • One to three years of related experience is an asset
  • Mechanical inclination; to operate and maintain machinery
  • Practical experience and knowledge in the safe use of power tools and other equipment
  • Ability to safely lift 50 pounds
  • Motivated self-starter, with a positive and results oriented attitude
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract
  • Ability to take direction and work from established schedules and task lists
  • Customer service oriented
  • Ability to manage relationships at all levels
  • Ability to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check

Compensation and Benefits

  • Between $21.58 – $32.37 per hour, based on qualifications & experience
