Food Store Cashier (part-time)
Dawson Co-op invites applications for the position of Cashier (part-time) to join our team at our Food Store located in Dawson Creek, British Columbia.
Reporting to the Grocery Supervisor, this position is responsible for providing prompt, courteous and knowledgeable service to customers, while maintaining an excellent understanding of till operations and a neat and clean working area.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Come to work with a positive and professional approach and attitude
- Be dependable for all scheduled shifts
- Provide outstanding and courteous customer service at all times
- Provide service, information and assistance to customers in a manner which will meet or exceed their requirements and expectations and promote the sale of merchandise
- Engage in and supervise the packing of customer purchases at the checkout counter
- Achieve accurate cash balances
- Have a good working understanding of the till operation and provide a clean and organized front-end at all times
- Maintain a good understanding of where items are placed in the store
- Ensure complete inventory of tobacco products is kept and valid photo identification is requested and reviewed before completing sale of merchandise, as applicable
- Adhere to start of day and end of day procedures
- Adhere to all Dawson Co-operative Union policies and procedures
- Adhere to all Dawson Co-operative Union health and safety standards, per the Health and Safety manual
- Other duties as assigned
